Judith E. Y. Rossebų is a scientist at ABB Corporate Research and a member of the IEEE. Her research interests include security of embedded devices and systems, smart grids systems and communications, as well as topics in industrial automation, Industrial Ethernet and wireless communications. Prior to joining ABB in 2010 she was Senior Research Scientist at Telenor R&I working as security expert and as a standards expert on matters related to security in All-IP networks and services. From January 2003 – April 2010 she was the Chairman of ETSI TISPAN WG7 Security standardization working group where she also contributed to the security work for the next generation network (NGN) standards. Prior to joining Telenor in October 2000, she worked as a systems engineer at Alcatel Telecom Norway and as an assistant professor teaching mathematics at the University of Tromsų. She has a PhD in Telematics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway (2009) on the topic of model-based dynamic service composition, a cand. scient. degree in Mathematics from the University of Oslo, Norway (1994) and an A.B. degree from Bowdoin College, USA (1987). Dimitrios Serpanos
is a Professor in the Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Patras,
Greece. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Princeton University
(1990), an MA in Computer Science from Princeton (1988) and an
Engineering Diploma in Computer Engineering and Information Sciences
from the University of Patras (1985). His research interests include
architecture of security systems, architecture of network systems,
computer architecture, embedded computing, high-performance
computing and VLSI. Before becoming a faculty member, Professor
Serpanos was a Research Staff Member at the IBM, T.J. Watson
Research Center (1990-1996), where he conducted research in
high-performance network systems (adapters, switches, routers,
etc.), secure services and home networking. Between 1996 and 2000,
he was faculty at the Department of Computer Science of the
University of Crete, and in 2000 he joined the Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Patras,
where he is Professor. Furthermore, he has conducted research at the
Institute of Computer Science (ICS-FORTH) and the Industrial Systems
Institute (ISI). Professor Serpanos received an IBM Faculty Award in
2005 and has received significant funding for his research from
industry in Europe and the USA as well as by the European Commission
and the Greek Government. He holds two US patents and has published
extensively in journals and conferences. He has served in various
positions –General Chair, TPC Chair, TPC member, etc.— in
well-respected conferences and workshops sponsored by IEEE and ACM;
additionally, he is currently Associate Editor of the ACM
Transactions on Embedded Computing Systems, the Journal of Internet
Engineering and the International Journal of Computers and Their
Applications.
