Time-Triggered Communication is one of few books available on the market which delves into details of specialized protocols and networks used in aviation and aeronautics, to mention SAFEbus and ASCB. Another novum of this book is the discussion of specific applications of time-triggered communication in the aerospace applications: SAFEbus in Boeing 777; ASCB in Primus Epic (a Honeywell’s avionics platforms for general, business, and regional aviation); Honeywell’s Modular Aerospace Controller (a backplane databus for intermodule communication); and TTEthernet in Orion (the next generation Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV) to replace Space Shuttle). The books also covers extensively protocols and networks for automotive applications with a particular focus on FlexRay, as well as in railway applications.
The book is organized in fifteen chapters that provide a comprehensive treatment of the areas covered:
Basic Concepts and Principles of Time-Triggered Communication
Properties of Time-Triggered Communication Systems
Time-Triggered Protocol - TTP/C
FlexRay
SAFEbus
Time-Triggered Ethernet
TTCAN - Time-Triggered Controller Area Network
LIN - Local Interconnect Network
Time-Triggered Protocol - TTP/A
BRAIN - Braided Ring Availability Integrity Network
ASCB – Avionics Standard Communications Bus
